The Sinai Revelation: Fact or Fiction?
Presenter: Lawrence Kelemen
Please enjoy this recorded event!
It is of the most significant of events in world history, and, at the same time, it is among the most controversial. Did The Creator of Heaven and Earth descend on a mountain in the Sinai desert and reveal His purpose for creation to man? Or not... Are intelligent, searching, Jews required to take a "leap of faith" to believe in a Divinely Given Torah? Or can we establish a rational approach to its historicity.
In this unprecedented live, online event in preparation for the Shavuot holiday, Rabbi Lawrence Kelemen, one of the most influential speakers in the Jewish world will present a cogent and compelling argument for the authenticity of Revelation.
Ample time will be given for interaction, questions, and discussion.

Review: Rabbi Kelemen repeats much of his thinking from his books with very little new. However, he is engaging and has obvious good will.
I tried to indicate in my on-line question that the Documentary Hypothesis carries great credibility and must be deconstructed and torn down systematically, point by point. Much of this brings up evidence contained in Jewish history and is not purely a logical formulation. DH theory is gaining strength, power and influence in the world so that if our position is to win over minds and hearts, it needs to be explained in a way which defeats their assumptions and claims. It is my belief that the DH is filled with holes and sensible people can be convinced to walk away from the liberal thesis. Ironically, Judaism still suffers from the insult that it is a cult and more can be said to defeat that sentiment to explain why Judaism really is different. Further, Kelemen sticks to the national revelation fact almost exclusively in his presentation, as if Judaism offers nothing else compelling and this becomes tiresome to those familiar with the party line.
Please listen to the class, print out those handouts and give this class a fair reading. My only hope is that there is a follow-up.
